NCX Chairman Attends High-level Study Tour In Ethiopia

The Chairman of the Nigeria Commodity Exchange (NCX), Alhaji Dalhatu Abubakar FCICN, is participating in a high-level study tour at the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The study tour, scheduled to hold from May 4th to 8th, 2026, is designed to provide practical exposure and peer learning from one of Africa’s most robust and globally recognized commodity exchange systems.
During the tour, participants are engaging in key sessions covering governance and institutional architecture, warehouse receipt systems and trade finance integration, operational infrastructure and market systems, as well as technology-driven platforms that enhance market transparency.
The initiative is coordinated by the Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending, (NIRSAL), a leading institution focused on improving agricultural financing and risk management in Nigeria.
The participation of the NCX Chairman underscores ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s commodity exchange framework and adopt global best practices to improve efficiency, transparency, and investor confidence in the sector.
