NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA TRADERS  VISITS NiDCOM …….Nigerian Traders in Ghana Commend Hon Abike

The President, National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS), led by Dr Ken Ukaoha paid a Solidarity visit to the Chairman/CEO, NIDCOM, Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Tuesday, in Abuja.
In a release signed by Mr Gabriel Odu, Media, Public Relations and Protocol Unit of NiDCOM, Dr Ukaoha said the visit to NiDCOM is to commend and appreciate theChairman/ CEO Hon Abike  Dabiri-Erewa for her untiring and unrelenting efforts in resolving issues concerning welfare of Nigerians in diaspora, noting that 37 out of the 157 unit associations in NANTS are in diaspora.
He lamented the hostile attitude of our African brothers even after contributing so much to their stability. Dr Ukaoha also believes that ECOWAS protocol of Free Movement of Persons, Goods and Services shouldn’t be observed in breach but rather be observed in the spirit of brotherhood and diplomatic reciprocity. He urged the Federal  Government of Nigeria to reduce what he described as “Big brother” attitude and apply concrete diplomatic action to tackle the maltreatment of Nigerians in Africa.
He further expressed that NANTS and particularly traders in Ghana appreciate the efforts of the Federal Government and NiDCOM in particular at the reopening of over 600 shops owned by Nigerian traders in Ghana.

In reponse  the Chairman/CEO Nigerians in Diaspora Commission Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa thanked the National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS) Dr Ken Ukaoha  for appreciating NiDCOM’s role and noted that appreciation should go President Mohammad Buhari, and stated that intervention was multi-level especially at the highest level of diplomacy and bilateral relations between Ghana and Nigeria.
Mrs Dabiri-Erewa urged Nigerian Traders in Ghana to always obey the laws of their host country and conduct themselves with respect and dignity.
Recall that Shops belonging to Nigerian Traders in Ghana have been on lockdown since December 2019.
