Boosting Transportation Safety: NSIB, ATACA Collaborate
The Abuja Transport and Aviation Correspondents Association (ATACA) executive members paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of the Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), Captain Alex Badeh Jnr., on Wednesday. The NSIB boss commended the team for introducing the new executive members and pledged to work with Journalists to escalate the mandate of NSIB to the public.
Captain Badeh emphasized the importance of safety in all modes of transportation, noting that the aviation industry is the second most regulated industry in the world after medicine. He also highlighted the need for synergy and collaboration among stakeholders in different transport modes to improve safety and accident prevention.

The NSIB boss further underscored the need for training journalists to keep pace with current trends in safety operations. This is particularly important, given the bureau’s expanded scope to investigate accidents in all modes of transportation, not just aviation.
Earlier, ATACA Chairman Ejike Ejike stressed the need for regular interaction with the bureau. This visit marks a significant step in fostering collaboration between ATACA and NSIB.
