The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has warned members of the public against fraudulent recruitment schemes and fake appointment letters being circulated by individuals impersonating the agency.

NAMA, in a statement issued on Monday by its Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Dr Abdullahi Musa, said it was concerned about the activities of unscrupulous persons exploiting unsuspecting job seekers and damaging the agency’s corporate identity.

The agency clarified that it is not currently conducting any recruitment exercise, stressing that anyone claiming to recruit, facilitate employment or issue appointment letters on behalf of NAMA is acting without its knowledge, approval or authorisation.

NAMA urged members of the public to exercise vigilance and avoid making payments, submitting sensitive personal information or engaging in transactions with individuals or organisations claiming to offer employment opportunities with the agency.

It advised the public to independently verify any recruitment notice, employment communication or appointment letter purportedly issued by NAMA through its recognised official channels before taking any action.

The agency also warned against relying on unofficial correspondence, social media messages or representations by unauthorised intermediaries.
“NAMA does not authorise individuals or third parties to solicit money or other consideration in exchange for employment,” the statement said.

The agency further advised members of the public to report suspected cases of impersonation and fraudulent representation to the appropriate authorities.

NAMA stated that it would not accept responsibility for losses or other consequences arising from dealings with fraudsters or unauthorised persons falsely claiming to represent the agency.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, institutional integrity and protecting members of the public from fraudulent activities.
