NAF Invites Public to Open Day Events Across Nigeria to Kick Off 61st Anniversary Celebrations

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is set to hold a nationwide Open Day event from May 1 to 15, 2025, as part of its 61st anniversary celebrations. The event, themed “Come See Your Air Force,” aims to foster stronger civil-military relations and provide Nigerians with a unique opportunity to witness the inner workings of their Air Force.

The Open Day events will take place in various NAF units across the country, including Makurdi, Bauchi, Yenagoa, Kaduna, Enugu, Ikeja, Katsina, Maiduguri, Port Harcourt, Oshogbo, Minna, FCT, Victoria Island, Yola, Benin, Kainji, Kano, and Jos.
Highlights of the Open Day Events:
- Guided tours of NAF facilities
- Close-up inspections of aircraft and platforms
- Historical exhibitions, including photo galleries and mini-museums
- Interactive sessions with NAF personnel
- Documentary screenings and engaging video displays
- Souvenir distribution to commemorate the experience
- Outreach programs in schools, including career talks to inspire young Nigerians.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, emphasized the importance of public trust and engagement, saying, “This Open Day is a reflection of our commitment to transparency, national unity, and pride in service. We invite all Nigerians to come, see, and connect with their Air Force.”
The official anniversary celebrations will take place from May 13 to 20, 2025.
