Minister applaud NFF for taking prompt action towards Bidemi Aluko health

The Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare has expressed gratitude towards the effort by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF),in providing succour to ailing ex-super Falcon goalkeeper, Bidemi Aluko, as directed, with a donation of five million naira and three million naira cash release.
Mr. Dare who spoke in Abuja recently, explained that the health insurance component of the Athletes Sustenance Fund (ASF), is being planned to prevent situations where persons who have served the Nation like Bidemi, would not have access to a functional health treatment fund.  In his words “When the Athletes Sustenance Fund comes on, it has health insurance component that will be available to provide healthcare to athletes and others.
Mr. Dare said he was impressed that the NFF within the shortest time made the necessary intervention and she is now receiving the necessary treatment. Bidemi Aluko is battling with breast cancer.
The Minister emphasized that the ministry will ensure the building of a system where formal health insurance takes care of situations that concerns health and physical fitness.  He however encouraged the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) President, Mr. Amaju Pinnick to facilitate the balance payment of two million naira for her to receive all the needed treatment as stipulated.
He says he truly applauds these gesture and hoped that other Agencies and well meaning corporate organizations will emulate such kind assistance to all athletes, serving or retired to make them feel belong to our great country Nigeria for which we all are proud of.
