Manchester United face Charlton Athletic in last eight of Carabao Cup

Manchester United will entertain League One side Charlton Athletic in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

The Red Devils beat Burnley FC 2-0 courtesy of goals from Christian Ericsson and Marcus Rashford on Wednesday to enter the next round.
Charlton, who best Premier Leagu side Brighton on penalties in the fourth round are the only non-Premier League team left in the competition.

Manchester City will face Southampton after beating defending champions Liverpool.
City are gunning for their Eighth title and the fifth triumph under Pep Guardiola in the competition after they recorded a 3-2 win in a very tense game that saw Erling Haaland, Riyad Mahrez and Nathan Ake score .

Nottingham Forest will host Wolverhampton Wanderers while Newcastle United face Leicester City.

The quarter-finals will take place on January 9, 2023
