KATSINA INFERNO: Kano Gov. business community donates N20M

Governor Abdullah Umar Ganduje of Kano State and the business community in Kano, Tuesday donated the sum of twenty million naira, N20M to the adversely affected traders at the Katsina Central market that gutted by fire disaster last month.

Ganduje and his entourage, the business community, announced the donation at Government House Katsina, while paying condolence to the Government and people of Katsina State over the unfortunate fire disaster that gutted properties worth millions of naira recently at the market.

“I’m here with my entourage, the business community who were concerned, worried and have suffered the same fire tragedy in Sabon Gari market in Kano, to console you, and the people of the state over the sad fire incident that gutted the market last month “.

”We pray for the recovery of losses and against future occurrences. Also, we commend Gov. Masari for the quick constitution of fact finding committee”.

Governor Ganduje stressed that the two states share common similarities and business synergy, hence the contribution of N20M to assist in reducing the hardships suffered by the affected traders at the market.

Responding, Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State, thanked the Kano Governor and his entourage for the donation considering the long-lasting relationship existed between the two states.

According to Gov. Masari, “We share our borders and the relationship between us have remained ages. I don’t see boundaries and differences but administrative conveniences ”.

He appreciated the donation by the Kano delegation nothing that it will go a long way in assisting the affected traders in their recovery as he described the fire incident as the most devastating in the history of fire incidents in the State.
