INNOSON MOTORS DESERVE NATIONAL PATRONAGE

“Federal Government Should Initiate a Patronage Law of first 85% For Innoson Vehicles and Other Manufacturers Nigeria, Before Any Foreign Products.”

Charles Edet Esq, Ph.d

Innoson Motors, Nigeria’s foremost indigenous automobile company, deserves both federal and state government patronage. It is disheartening to learn that the National Assembly has budgeted a significant amount of money to purchase jeeps for its members, but they are opting for foreign Toyota products instead of supporting a homegrown brand.

Patronizing Innoson Motors would not only be a competitive marketing decision but also a patriotic approach to boost the promotion of made-in-Nigeria products. It is essential to showcase and support our own manufacturing capabilities, especially when we have a company like Innoson Motors producing vehicles within the country.

Many countries that manufacture vehicles prioritize the patronage of their own domestic automobile companies by their governments. By doing so, they not only stimulate their economy but also demonstrate a commitment to promoting local industries and creating jobs for their citizens.

It is highly disappointing that the National Assembly plans to buy cars from outside the country, disregarding the potential economic benefits of supporting Innoson Motors. Similarly, the refusal of the Abia State House of Assembly to accept Innoson cars, as recommended by the state governor, is a missed opportunity to demonstrate patriotism and support local industries.

It is an act of hypocrisy for the government to overlook Innoson Motors, a company that produces vehicles with comparable capacity and aesthetics to satisfy the preferences of the assembly members. Furthermore, our investigations have revealed that Innoson Motors is even capable of manufacturing customized bullet-proof vehicles if required.

It is crucial for the government to think outside the box and prioritize the patronage of Nigerian-made products, such as Innoson Motors. This not only supports local industries and boosts the economy but also fosters national pride and showcases our manufacturing capabilities to the world.
