The Executive Chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC), Victor Muruako, Esq., led staff of the Commission in a health walk on Saturday morning, demonstrating a strong commitment to staff wellness and unity, even amid heavy rainfall in the Asokoro district of Abuja.

The walk, which marked the Commission’s first health-related event of the year, recorded significant participation from senior officials and staff, including the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Alhaji Muhammad Zailani, five Deputy Directors, and other members of the Commission. Also in attendance was the recently retired Head of Finance and Accounts, Mr. Sule Unekwuojo, who was joined by his wife, Hajia Maimuna Unekwu Ojo, and their son, Awal Unekwuojo.

Addressing participants during the exercise, Chairman Muruako expressed satisfaction with the turnout, stating that “happiness is free” and encouraging staff to embrace such moments of camaraderie. He lauded the commitment of all who participated, especially given the challenging weather conditions.

The event also served as a platform to honor Mr. Unekwuojo’s retirement. The Chairman acknowledged his contributions to the Commission and extended a warm welcome to his family, encouraging them to remain engaged in future activities.

In a significant development, Barrister Muruako announced that the health walk would become a monthly tradition aimed at promoting physical fitness and reinforcing team spirit among staff. He also introduced Mr. Adedayo Akeem Jagun as the new acting coach of the FRC sports team, assigning him a three-month acting period ahead of potential confirmation.

“You never know when something good might come your way,” the Chairman remarked, urging broader staff participation in future walks.

In his remarks, Mr. Unekwuojo expressed gratitude to the FRC family for the recognition and support shown to him and his family. He praised the Sports Committee and the Strategic Communications Directorate for organizing the successful event and officially handed over his coaching duties to Mr. Jagun.

The exercise was characterized by high morale, team spirit, and a renewed focus on health and wellness across the Commission.
