Foreign Affairs, Budget Ministries Meet to Advance Collaboration on Nigeria’s Development Agenda

The Honourable Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to stronger inter-ministerial collaboration aimed at advancing Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives and national development priorities.
Ambassador Enikanolaiye made this known during a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, and the Honourable Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, at the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning in Abuja on Monday.
The high-level meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning to support the implementation of Nigeria’s foreign policy, the Renewed Hope Agenda, and the country’s long-term development goals.
Key areas of discussion included improved coordination on national development planning, strengthening international cooperation, ensuring sustainable funding for Nigeria’s diplomatic missions, and fostering more effective engagement with development partners.
The meeting underscored the importance of a coordinated government approach in mobilising international partnerships and resources to drive economic growth, attract investment, and deliver on the administration’s development objectives.
The visit is expected to further consolidate institutional collaboration between the two ministries, ensuring greater policy alignment and enhanced efficiency in Nigeria’s engagement with bilateral and multilateral partners.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions reflected the Federal Government’s resolve to deepen synergy across ministries in pursuit of sustainable national development and effective implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Ministry’s Spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, disclosed details of the visit in a statement issued in Abuja.
