FG Tightens Personnel Accountability as Aviation Ministry Reviews Audit Report

The Federal Government of has reinforced its commitment to transparency and accountability in the public service, as the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development concluded a high-level review of its Personnel Audit and Skills Gap Analysis (PASGA) exercise.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mahmud Adam Kambari, made this known during a meeting with PASGA consultants, noting that the audit aligns with the directive of Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure credible and comprehensive verification of personnel across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
Kambari stressed the importance of timely submission of audit reports, in line with guidance from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, adding that the exercise is designed to produce accurate personnel data, enhance workforce planning, and eliminate discrepancies within the system.
He commended the consultants for their professionalism and dedication throughout the audit process.
Earlier, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Stransform Limited, Offiong Archibong, disclosed that out of the Ministry’s total workforce of 350 staff, 310 were successfully verified, while 40 failed to present themselves for the exercise.
She explained that the PASGA initiative aims to ensure up-to-date personnel records, identify skills gaps, and strengthen documentation processes within the Ministry.
Archibong recommended a series of measures, including the re-verification of unverified staff, enforcement of accountability through the Head of Service, removal of retired personnel from the nominal roll, and resolution of discrepancies within the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS).
She added that circulars would be issued through the Human Resources Department to address affected staff, including those yet to receive verification certificates.
In his closing remarks, Director of Human Resources Management, Ejike Osibe, described the session as a formal close-out of the audit exercise. He appreciated the support of the Office of the Head of Service and assured that all outstanding issues identified would be promptly resolved.
The Ministry said the exercise marks a critical step toward strengthening institutional integrity, improving personnel management, and aligning with ongoing public service reforms.
