FAAN bags two Awards in one year

The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) had won the “Best Improvement in Safety Award” of the Airports Council International, ACI- African Region ( won by the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja ),and the certification of FAAN Training School as ICAO Security Training Centre.
While presenting the awards to the Minister of State, Aviation, Senator Hardi Sirika, on Thursday, the Managing Director of FAAN, Engr Saleh Dunoma dedicated the award to Senator Sirika and said that the award was won due to the Honourable Minister’s leadership guidance and encouragement.
“I wish to assure the Honourable Minister that other Airports are encouraged and are working towards achieving same feat in the next assessment that will be conducted by ICAO and ACI.”
The Minister of State expressed his pleasure and said that two awards were “another prize for efficiency” as he received the awards.
“Efficiency in the aviation industry is our goal and I am happy that we are getting the results through the awards.
We will continue to do our best to make sure that we live up to the expected standard.” he also said
He noted that safety has improved and so many other things has been put in place to ensure that the aviation sub sector was improved which is being noticed by the world.
He reiterated as always in most of his official meetings, that his intention is to the aviation industry better than he met it.
He said that aviation is not just for elite as certain necessities or supplies may be urgent, thus warranting air travels.
He said that all the the policy makers and workers  are doing their best develop the aviation subsector.
