A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress from Taraba State, Ambassador Musa Muhammed Tsoken, has praised the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, for his leadership in transforming Nigeria’s maritime sector and advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Tsoken described Dr. Dantsoho as an accomplished technocrat whose blend of technical expertise, administrative competence, and commitment to national development has continued to reposition the nation’s ports sector for greater efficiency and global competitiveness.

According to him, Dr. Dantsoho’s rise from a National Youth Service Corps member in 1992 to the 29th Managing Director of the NPA reflects decades of dedication, integrity, and institutional experience within the maritime industry.

Tsoken highlighted the NPA boss’s academic credentials, including degrees in Public Administration, International Transport, and Maritime Technology from institutions in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, noting that his expertise has equipped him to tackle complex operational and policy challenges in the maritime sector.

He also commended Dr. Dantsoho’s record of service in various strategic positions within the NPA and the transportation sector, including Port Manager at Onne Port, Technical Assistant to the Managing Director, Principal Manager of Tariff and Billing, and Chief of Staff to the Minister of Transport.

The APC stalwart further lauded the NPA chief for championing key reforms aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in infrastructure modernization, rehabilitation of eastern ports, and improving ease of doing business at Nigerian ports.

He noted that under Dr. Dantsoho’s leadership, Nigeria has strengthened its influence in regional and global maritime affairs, citing his election as Vice President (Africa) of the International Association of Ports and Harbours and his leadership role in the Port Management Association of West and Central Africa.

Tsoken said the reforms introduced by the NPA management have contributed to increased non-oil exports and enhanced trade activities, supporting the Federal Government’s economic diversification drive.

He equally praised Dr. Dantsoho’s commitment to grassroots empowerment and inclusive leadership through human capital development, stakeholder engagement, and support for local businesses operating within the maritime value chain.

Describing him as “a shining son of Taraba State,” Tsoken said Dr. Dantsoho’s journey serves as an inspiration to young Nigerians, especially youths from Taraba, demonstrating that hard work, continuous learning, and integrity remain pathways to national leadership.

He expressed confidence that the NPA under Dr. Dantsoho would continue to play a pivotal role in achieving a prosperous and globally competitive economy in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Tsoken also prayed for divine wisdom and strength for the NPA boss as he continues to serve the nation.
