CWON CONFERENCE: VP Yemi Osinbajo advocates national outpouring of prayers.

Vice President of  the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbanjo has advocated a national outpour of prayers in view of the present challenges bedeviling the nation.

Professor Osinbanjo made the call at the National Conference and Retreat of the Catholic Women Organization of Nigeria (CWON).

The retreat which got underway at the Saint Louis College, Jos was hosted by the Jos Eclesiastical Province.

The National Catholic Women Organization Conference’s theme is ‘Let’s think with the heart of Mary.’

At the conference, the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Oseibajo said societal ills such as moral laxity, rape, murder and kidnapping, among others, have greatly affected the soci-economic growth of the country.

The Vice President who was represented by the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, OFR, KSG sumised that the place of denominational prayers can never be overemphasised.

Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State who was represented by Secretary to the State Government, Professor Danladi Atu submitted that the retreat will help to consolidate on the efforts of the Government regarding peace, stressing that peace is the cardinal pillar on which the State rest on.

CWON’s Mary Gonsum, said the choice of this year’s theme is to remind Christians of how Mary the mother of Jesus, carried her problems in total submission to the will of God.

A goodwill message came to the CWON Conference from the Management Committee Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council, Shahu Bala Usman.
