Cameroon Telecommunications Regulator Visits NCC for Benchmarking Exercise

The Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Board (ART) of the Republic of Cameroon, Philemon Zoo Zame, has led a delegation on a benchmarking visit to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) headquarters in Abuja.

The delegation was received by the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the NCC, Aminu Maida, during the visit held on May 6, 2026.

The benchmarking exercise focused on strengthening regulatory collaboration and sharing best practices in telecommunications regulation, digital innovation, consumer protection, and broadband development between Nigeria and Cameroon.

Discussions during the engagement also explored strategies for enhancing regional cooperation in the telecommunications sector, improving regulatory frameworks, and deepening capacity building among communications regulators across Africa.

Officials of both regulatory institutions reaffirmed their commitment to fostering stronger bilateral ties and promoting sustainable growth in the telecommunications industry within the region.

The visit further underscored the growing importance of cross-border collaboration among African telecom regulators in addressing emerging challenges and opportunities in the rapidly evolving digital economy.
