Bangladesh Showcases Culture, Tourism, Trade at Nigeria’s First Diplomatic Cultural Festival

Abuja, June 16, 2026 – The Bangladesh High Commission in Abuja has showcased the country’s rich cultural heritage, tourism potential, and export products at the maiden Diplomatic Cultural Festival organized by Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja.
The festival, held on June 13, brought together more than 41 diplomatic missions, providing a platform for cultural exchange and international engagement.
As part of its participation, the Bangladesh High Commission set up an exhibition booth displaying a range of Bangladeshi export products and photographs of major tourist destinations. Visitors were also offered traditional Bangladeshi delicacies, while a cultural performance by the Mission captivated audiences and received widespread commendation.

A major highlight of the event was a colourful national parade led by the High Commission, featuring the national flag of Bangladesh. Members of the Bangladeshi expatriate community in Nigeria joined the procession, adding colour and excitement to the celebration.
The High Commission’s displays and cultural presentations drew praise from Nigerian government officials, members of the diplomatic community, local attendees, and the Bangladeshi diaspora.
According to the Mission, the festival provided an important opportunity to promote Bangladesh’s cultural identity, tourism attractions, and trade prospects while fostering stronger people-to-people ties.
The event also contributed to strengthening diplomatic and cultural relations between Bangladesh, Nigeria, and other participating countries, reinforcing the spirit of international friendship and cooperation.
