The APC Initiative for Good Governance (APC-IGG) has appealed to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to include four prominent stakeholders from Taraba State in the party’s Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group said the inclusion of the stakeholders would strengthen grassroots mobilisation, promote party unity and improve the APC’s chances of securing victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming presidential election.

In an appeal addressed to President Tinubu, the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, and other party leaders, the APC-IGG expressed concern over the omission of influential Taraba political figures from the recently released list of the council.

The appeal was signed by the National President of APC-IGG and National Coordinator of the Asiwaju Again Renewed Hope Support Initiative 2027, Ambassador Musa Muhammed Tsoken.

The group identified former Minister of Transportation, Hon. Muazu Sambo Jaji; Chief Dr. David Sabo Kente; former National Commissioner, Engr. Ahmed Yusuf Gamalia; and Ambassador Tsoken himself as the stakeholders whose inclusion it considered necessary.

According to the group, the four individuals possess the political influence, organisational capacity, grassroots connections and experience required to strengthen the APC’s campaign structure in Taraba State and the North-East geopolitical zone.

It described Sambo Jaji as a former minister and leading governorship aspirant in Taraba State who commands considerable grassroots support and remains an influential political mobiliser.

The group also identified Kente as a major party stakeholder and financier who had demonstrated commitment to the APC through his participation in the party’s governorship nomination process and efforts to promote unity and stability in the state.

Gamalia, a former national commissioner and technocrat, was described as an experienced party stakeholder whose national connections and institutional knowledge could contribute to the strategic operations of the campaign council.

On his part, Tsoken was presented as a consistent advocate of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda who coordinates support structures across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The APC-IGG argued that the inclusion of the four stakeholders would give Taraba State a stronger sense of representation and ownership within the presidential campaign structure.

It added that their participation would help consolidate support for Tinubu, strengthen internal cohesion and improve the party’s grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The group appealed to the President and other leaders of the APC to urgently review the composition of the campaign council and address what it described as an inadvertent omission.

It expressed confidence that the party leadership would give the request favourable consideration in the interest of fairness, inclusiveness and electoral success.

The appeal was also addressed to the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas; APC Deputy Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke; and the Taraba State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Bawwa.
