The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), has announced an ongoing outage on the 132kV Kumbotso–Dan’Agundi Transmission Line in Kano State, which is expected to last until Saturday, October 31, 2026.

TCN disclosed that the transmission line was taken out of service at 10:28 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, to allow the completion of erection and stringing works on Road Crossing Tower 27 in connection with the Dan’Agundi Flyover Road project.

In a notice issued on Friday, October 30, the company’s Kano Region said the outage would affect electricity supply to customers of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) in parts of Kano metropolis and its environs.

To minimise the impact of the outage, TCN said it was transferring some electricity feeders from the Dan’Agundi Transmission Substation to the Dakata and Rimin Zakara Transmission Substations, where applicable.

The company apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience caused by the temporary interruption in power supply.

TCN said the outage was necessary to facilitate the completion of the transmission infrastructure works associated with the Dan’Agundi Flyover Road project.
