The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled maintenance exercise at its Katampe 330/132/33kV Transmission Substation, which will affect electricity supply to several communities in Abuja and neighbouring areas.
TCN, in a notice issued on Friday, said its maintenance team would carry out scheduled maintenance on its 150MVA Power Transformer 2 and associated switchgear on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
The exercise is scheduled to take place between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
According to the company, the maintenance will prevent the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) from receiving electricity for onward distribution to customers in several locations during the exercise.
The affected areas include Kubwa PW, Dutse Makaranta, Ushafa, Jere, Jiwa, parts of Suleja, Kaduna Road, Sabon Wuse, Dikko, Zuba, Madalla, Dakwa, Tugan Maje and their environs.
TCN stated that the interruption would last for approximately six hours, although the maintenance window is scheduled to run for seven hours.
The company apologised to electricity consumers in the affected communities for the inconvenience the exercise may cause.
