Bangladesh High Commissioner Visits CBAAC, Seeks Stronger Cultural Ties with Nigeria

Lagos, Nigeria – The High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Nigeria, H.E. Mr. Miah Md. Mainul Kabir, has reaffirmed Bangladesh’s commitment to deepening cultural relations with Nigeria during a visit to the Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization (CBAAC), in Lagos.
The Bangladeshi envoy was received by senior officials of CBAAC, where discussions focused on fostering greater cultural understanding and collaboration between the two countries.
During the visit, the High Commissioner granted a brief interview in which he highlighted Bangladesh’s rich cultural heritage, describing it as a vital pillar of the country’s national identity and a bridge for international friendship. He emphasized that cultural diplomacy remains an important avenue for strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Nigeria.
According to the envoy, enhanced cooperation in arts, culture, heritage preservation, academic exchanges, exhibitions, and creative industries would promote greater people-to-people engagement and deepen mutual understanding between the peoples of both nations.
The visit underscored Bangladesh’s growing interest in expanding its engagement with Nigeria beyond trade and diplomacy by encouraging cultural exchanges that celebrate the shared values of diversity, creativity, and historical heritage.
The Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization, renowned for promoting African arts and culture, welcomed the initiative and expressed optimism that stronger collaboration with Bangladesh would open new opportunities for cultural partnerships and international exchanges.
The visit marks another step in the ongoing efforts to broaden Bangladesh–Nigeria relations through cultural diplomacy, complementing existing cooperation in trade, education, and other areas of mutual interest.
