NAF Escalates Offensive, Destroys Terrorist Hideouts in Southern Tumbuns

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), has sustained its high-tempo air campaign against insurgents, successfully destroying terrorist hideouts in the Southern Tumbuns area of Borno State.
The operation, carried out on April 24, 2026, was executed by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI following credible intelligence on terrorist movements within Ali Sheriffti, a known enclave in the region.
According to a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF air assets conducted a surveillance mission around 6:50 p.m., during which several insurgents were observed navigating concealed routes.
The targets were subsequently tracked to structures hidden beneath dense vegetation, suggesting deliberate efforts to evade detection.
Upon positive identification, the air force launched a precision strike, engaging the identified positions with onboard munitions. The attack resulted in the destruction of the structures, effectively disrupting the operational capabilities and mobility of the террорист elements in the area.
The NAF said the successful mission highlights its continued reliance on intelligence-driven and precision-based operations to eliminate террорист strongholds and deny them safe havens.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, reaffirmed the force’s commitment to sustaining pressure on insurgents, stressing that no террорист enclave would be beyond reach.
He assured that air operations would be intensified in the coming weeks as part of ongoing efforts to enhance national security and protect civilian populations.
