The High Commission of Bangladesh in Nigeria recently organized a friendly cricket match at the Lead British International School ground in Abuja to celebrate the Youth Festival of Bangladesh (Part 2). The event brought together expatriate Bangladeshis, Nigerians, teachers, and students of the school.

In his inaugural speech, Bangladesh High Commissioner in Nigeria, Miah Md Mainul Kabir, paid tribute to the martyrs and wounded persons in the July-August uprising last year, which ended the fascist rule in Bangladesh.

The High Commissioner emphasized the crucial role of youth in building a Bangladesh free from discrimination, exploitation, equality, and justice.

The friendly match was enjoyed by all participants, and trophies and medals were distributed among the players.

The event featured traditional Bangladeshi food and served as a platform for cultural exchange between Bangladeshis and Nigerians.

The High Commission plans to organize more events, including a painting exhibition with Nigerian young printers, seminars at universities, and a cultural program.

This event is part of the Bangladesh High Commission’s efforts to promote cultural exchange and youth engagement between Bangladesh and Nigeria. The commission has been actively involved in various initiatives, including the upcoming Booth Camp program, which aims to promote youth engagement, entrepreneurship, and cultural exchange between Nigeria and Bangladesh.
