Nigeria, Israel Strengthen Ties in Security, Economy, and Culture

Nigeria and Israel have deepened their strategic partnership through a comprehensive and productive Political Dialogue held in Abuja on August 11, 2025. The meeting between Nigeria’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and Israel’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sharren Miriam Haskel-Harpaz, focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in key areas.

Both countries emphasized the need for deeper collaboration in counter-terrorism, intelligence sharing, and security training, particularly in financing and security training.

In addition the two nations explored opportunities for joint initiatives in technology, innovation for border management, capacity building, agriculture, tourism, culture, and consular services.

Nigeria and Israel agreed to facilitate exchange visits and study tours to strengthen institutional and people-to-people ties.

Both countries pledged committed to maintaining constant dialogue and building a more robust bilateral relationship for mutual prosperity and regional stability. Emphasized was also made on the need for stronger collaboration at the multilateral level, especially in solidarity on critical issues for each party.

The meeting underscored the enduring partnership between Nigeria and Israel, with both nations expressing mutual interest in advancing their relationship across various sectors.
