Stakeholders Collaborate to Build Capacity for MOWCA’s Ministerial Standing Audit Committee

In a bid to enhance effectiveness and efficiency, the Maritime Organization of West and Central Africa (MOWCA) collaborated with Oceanserve Logistics, Whitestone Ship Brokers, and the West Africa School of Shipping to offer a capacity development opportunity for its Ministerial Standing Audit Committee members. The training, held from August 14th to 17th, 2024, took place at Ghana’s Tema Port in Accra.

The MOWCA’s Standing Audit Committee members who were taken through the capacity building in Accra include the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr Olufemi Oloruntola; the Director of Maritime Safety and Security (DMSS), the Deputy-Director of Coastal and Ship Development, Mrs Ekanem Selia Ogegere, the Chief Maritime Officer Sebastine Ukah, and the Principal Maritime Officer, Haruna Mohammed of the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

Others include top management team from Nigeria Maritime and Safety Agency, Dr. Felix Ezeji, the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology’s Dr. Lanre Abdulkadir, and Nigeria Ports Authority’s Mr. Golfwan Victor, Charles Ayeni, Oyewole Adelani Oluwafemi, Mathew Nse, and the Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority’s Mr. Japhet Odaba as well as Maritime Authourity of Nigeria, Oron’s Mrs. Emomotimi Egbuson.
