JAMB remits N5bn to Federal Government after 2019 UTME
Agency reports
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board says it remitted N5bn to the Federal Government after the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
JAMB revealed this on Monday in its weekly bulletin by its Head of Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin.
Benjamin later told NAN that the Federal Government returned N2bn to the body to enhance its operations.
Meanwhile, some 2019 UTME candidates have alleged they are facing challenges accessing their results.
JAMB released the results on Saturday and directed candidates to use the same telephone numbers they used in vending the pins for the examination registration documents to access their results.
NAN reports that out of the over 1.8 million candidates who registered for the examination, 1,792,719 had their results released by the board.
JAMB withheld the results of 34,120 candidates over alleged examination malpractices, with the results of 15,145 candidates undergoing further clarification, as in the case of identical twins and siblings, for example.
