Youths Celebrates Ayade’s Court Victory in Grand style…. Reinstates power shift to CR South.

Cross River State Governor Senator Prof Ben Ayade on Tuesday reiterated his position on power shift to the Southern Senatorial Zone ahead of the 2023 gubernatorial election in Cross River State.

In a statement on Tuesday at a grand reception rally in Calabar organized by the Cross River State Youth Lobby Group to celebrate the Governor’s Court Victory, Prof Ben Ayade, who is the Leader of All Progressive Congress (APC), in the State maintained his earlier position regarding the rotational agreement, which demanded that the governorship seat of Cross River State be zoned to Cross River South.

He warned those commissioned to set the state on fire to toe the path of peace in the interest of growth and development of the state.

On his Judicial victory, the Governor thanked the people of the State for standing firm with him irrespective of the emotional trauma it may have caused.

“It is God that brought me to this office and only God can take me out. That is why I’m here to say thank you to the judiciary for refusing to submit to the imbecilic stupidity and irresponsible conduct of people who believe that money and power belong to them.

“I’m happy that the judiciary rose and said we are too celebrated, we are too cerebral to bow to shenanigans. So we thank God. First, I give God almighty the adoration, the praise, and secondly, I thank the judiciary for standing for justice, for standing firm on the tabernacle of truth.

He thanked the youths for standing by the APC and stated that Cross River will leave a footprint for other States in Nigeria to follow via it’s Youth Development Policy of encouraging youthful succession.

Also speaking, the APC National Women Leader, Dr Betta Edu called on the youths to stand firm with the Governor who she described as the father of youths in Governance. According to her she wouldn’t have been who she is today if not for His Excellency believe in youth inclusion in governance and politics.

She urged party faithfuls and women to rally around the Governor for more Economic empowerment and women emancipation while notifying them that the APC NWC has approved that nomination forms for Women in the forth coming primaries are free.

Earlier Speaking, Asuquo Ekpenyong stressed the need for prompt voters registration and collection of PVC amongst teeming party members at the grassroots. He said, that true power in a democracy comes from the ability to vote and exercise one’s franchise.
“The PVC is a legal weapon and must be utilized to perform your civic duty. I therefore, appeal to everyone, to be part of this project in our various polling unit, wards, local government, zones and at the state at large to achieve the cardinal objectives ahead of 2023 general elections”
