USPF Hands Over Emerging Tech Centre to Ogun State Institute of Technology
The Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has officially handed over the Emerging Technologies Centre (ETC) to the Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH) in Igbesa, Ogun State.
The ETC, equipped with 100 desktop computers, emerging technology applications, bandwidth, and connectivity tools, aims to enhance the learning experience of students while providing a platform for digital innovation, research, and development (R&D) for Nigeria’s economic growth.
A landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed during the handover ceremony to ensure the effective utilization and sustainability of the ICT project. The USPF Secretary, Yomi Arowosafe, emphasized that the Centre represents a vision, commitment, and investment in Ogun State’s and Nigeria’s future.
The ETC is expected to have a significant impact on the institution and the wider community, providing opportunities for students to develop skills in emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, data analytics, and cybersecurity. It will also serve as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, supporting start-ups and small businesses.
