Senator Enoh Pledges Support for IKOMCCIMA’s Economic Development Initiatives

Honourable Minister of State (Industry), Senator John Owan Enoh received in audience delegate of the Ikom Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (IKOMCCIMA), today 23rd May, 2025.

Senator Owan Enoh who applauded the IKOMCIMMA President, Mrs Flora Agbiji Takim-Ndifon for his passion on the economic development in Cross River State, Ikom and Environs in particular, also accepted the invitation to deliver the keynote address at the upcoming IKOMCIMMA summit in November, 2025. The event, themed “The Economic Potentials, Current Challenges, aims to explore the economic potentials, challenges, and solutions for the business environment.

The Minister urged the Chamber to pursue the initiative of establishing Ikom Industrial Hub seriously, and re-open discussion with the Nigerian Shipper’s Council on Domestic Export Warehouse in Ikom.

Speaking earlier, IKOMCCIMA President who commended the Minister for his remarkable services and dedication to the economic development of Cross River State as inspiring. “We hope your position will bring new opportunities for value addition to agricultural produce”, she added.

She stated that the Ikom Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (IKOMCCIMA) is a willing partner in this endeavour and as a member of the Nigeria Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), IKOMCIMMA aims to provide services, network, and advocacy for businesses to thrive.

“We’ve highlighted the strategic importance of the Mfom border and assisted 52 SMEs in registering their businesses. We’ve also enlightened farmers on the need to structure their businesses. We believe your Ministry’s partnership would be instrumental in our growth and development.

“IKOMCCIMA seeks to partner with the Ministry of Industry to further drive economic growth and development in the region”, Mrs Takim-Ndifon concluded.

The event provides an opportunity for IKOMCCIMA, the Ministry and other stakeholders to collaborate and drive economic development in the region. Senator John Owan Enoh’s participation as keynote speaker underscores the importance of this initiative.
