Peace Advocate Iornem Solomon Selected as Gaypu Benue State Ag.Chairman

On the heels of the current realities in the state including Fulani-herder crises, banditry, arson, kidnapping, sexual violence, among other heinous crimes against humanity, Iornem has been selected to ensure peace in Benue state.
The President/board of trustees, Global Alliance of Youth for Peace and Unity, Hon. Solomon Pevkyaa has approved the selection of Amb. Iornem Solomon as Ag. Chairman Benue state chapter.
Responding to the selection, President Tiv traditional singers who doubles as Ambassador Anti Drug Abuse, Amb. Iornem Solomon Jp acknowledged the board of trustees for finding him worthy.
Amb. Iornem noted that peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding. As such he urged members of the state particularly its youth to give room for understanding in order to maintain peace
“Conflict prevention and resolution is more sustainable when young people’s perspectives are prioritized. Engaging young people and youth community leaders in peace efforts, decision-making and institutional reform processes provides an opportunity to constructively influence areas that directly impact their lives, he added”
Investing in resilience and food security helps fight hunger and build peace,he urged the populace to join hands to achieve peace and food security as food basket of the nation in the state and beyond.
