OUR DOORS ARE OPEND FOR INVESTORS. ENGR ALIYU TELLS TURKISH AMBASSADOR TO NIGERIA

Honourable Minister of Power in Nigeria, Engr. Abubakar D. Aliyu has declared that the Federal Government is willing to accept investors particularly in the Power Sector.

Aliyu informed the gathering while receiving the Ambassador of Turkey to Nigeria, H.E Hidayet Bayratar along with two other delegates today, Thursday 18th February, 2022 at the Conference Room of the Federal Ministry of Power, Maitama, Abuja.

Stating the desire and commitment of President Muhammadu Buhari towards infrastructural development in the Power sector, the Minister explained that the Nigeria electricity supply industry to be both owned by government and the private sector. He said Nigeria and Turkey relationship is a long standing one which has culminated in the signing an MoU between Turkey and Nigeria last year October to collaborate for mutual benefits.

Aliyu said the improvement in system failure due to the maintenance of the National grid, adding that various interventions are being put into the power sector of Nigeria. He said the Distribution aspect of the Power Sector in Nigeria is an area worth investing asking Turkey and the rest of the world to partner with Nigeria and to share experience in the fields of energy, renewable energy and energy efficiency.

In his responses, the Turkey Ambassador to Nigeria, H.E Hidayet Bayratar, said their visit was a follow-up to the MoU signed late last year noting that Turkey is willing to assist and collaborate in areas of renewable energy and energy efficiency, share knowledge and experience in construction of and operation of Wind, Solar and hydroelectric power plants.
