Convener of The Apostolic Roundtable (TAC), and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Project Victory Call Initiative (PVC Naija), Dr. Bolaji O. Akinyemi, has commended Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, for what he described as the responsible and transparent utilisation of public resources.

Akinyemi, who recently led a team on an assessment tour of several states across the country, said Abia had emerged as one of the states demonstrating focused leadership, prudent resource management, and visible developmental impact.

Speaking during an interview on national issues and governance, he noted that Governor Otti’s administration had distinguished itself through infrastructure renewal, healthcare reforms, financial discipline, and the restoration of public confidence in government.

According to him, the most remarkable achievement of the Otti administration is the restoration of trust between citizens and government.
“For many years, Abians had become accustomed to low expectations from government. Governor Otti has altered that narrative by demonstrating that public resources can indeed be deployed for public good,” Akinyemi said.

He identified infrastructure development, financial transparency, healthcare investments, public trust, and leadership culture as key areas where the governor has recorded significant achievements.

The cleric and governance advocate further described Otti as a leader who represents “a rare convergence of competence and character,” adding that the administration has projected seriousness, responsiveness, and commitment to results rather than political theatrics.

Akinyemi also listed Abia among states such as Lagos, Niger, Ekiti, and Enugu that have recorded notable progress in infrastructure, agriculture, urban renewal, internally generated revenue, and public sector reforms over the past three years.

On the controversy surrounding the proposed Abia International Airport project, he urged both government and affected communities to embrace dialogue and fairness. While acknowledging concerns over land acquisition and compensation, he stressed that development should never come at the expense of justice.
“Government should maintain open communication and ensure that no citizen feels sacrificed in the name of development,” he said.

Assessing Governor Otti’s chances of securing a second term, Akinyemi argued that re-election should be based on performance rather than entitlement.
“Based on what I have personally observed, Governor Otti has built a strong case for seeking another mandate. Ultimately, the decision belongs to the people, and their verdict must remain supreme,” he stated.

The TAC convener also called for issue-based politics ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging Nigerians to focus on governance, security, economic recovery, and accountability rather than political defections and power struggles.
