NSC Mourns ‘Chairman’ Christian Chukwu

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has expressed deep sadness over the passing of Christian “Chairman” Chukwu, the iconic captain of Nigeria’s victorious 1980 Africa Cup of Nations team. NSC Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko described Chukwu’s death as a “big shock” and paid tribute to his legacy, saying, “A big iroko tree has fallen.”
