In the North-Central zone, thunderstorms with moderate rainfall are expected over Plateau, Kogi, Benue, Niger, Kwara and Nasarawa states later in the day. Southern states, including Lagos, Osun, Ondo, Edo, Delta, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Bayelsa, are also forecast to witness thunderstorms and rainfall throughout the day.
NiMet advised Nigerians to remain vigilant, noting that strong winds may precede thunderstorms in several locations. The agency also advised airline operators to obtain airport-specific weather reports for operational planning and encouraged residents to monitor official weather updates through its website for the latest forecasts and advisories.
