The organisers of the forthcoming Nigeria–Saudi Investment and Tourism Summit have sought a strategic partnership with the Dala Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (DALCCIMA) to strengthen economic cooperation and attract investment opportunities between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
The move followed a courtesy visit by the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the summit, Sheikh Musa Umar Yahàya Al Yaro, to the DALCCIMA Secretariat in Kano ahead of the summit slated for August 4–5, 2026, in Abuja.
Speaking during the meeting, DALCCIMA President, Uba Tanko Mijinyawa, said the chamber was committed to fostering stronger economic relations between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, particularly in agro-processing, manufacturing,
renewable energy and Islamic finance.
He stressed that the chamber was interested in partnerships driven by tangible economic value rather than ceremonial engagements.
“We are looking for a partnership built on mutual respect and shared risk. We are here to build pipelines, not exchange pleasantries,” Mijinyawa said.
He noted that DALCCIMA offers curated market access, government interface, regional credibility and the capacity to ensure effective follow-through on investment initiatives.
Earlier, Sheikh Al Yaro said the summit, themed “Misconceptions, Challenges and Opportunities of Investing in Saudi Arabia and Nigeria Today,” aims to unlock trade, investment and tourism opportunities between both countries.
According to him, the event will provide a platform for business-to-business engagement across critical sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, solid minerals, healthcare, education, technology, halal industries and tourism.
To ensure effective coordination,
Mijinyawa directed the establishment of a Joint Strategic Collaboration Committee to drive stakeholder engagement, mobilise participation and oversee implementation before, during and after the summit.
The meeting was attended by the President of CONSCCIMA and Chairman of the Nigeria Commodity Exchange, Malam Dalhatu Abubakar FCICN, alongside members of the DALCCIMA council.
Both parties agreed that the summit would serve as a catalyst for expanding bilateral trade, increasing investment flows, promoting tourism and strengthening economic cooperation between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, while positioning Kano as a strategic gateway for international commerce and investment.
