Nigeria Applauds Rwanda’s socio-economic transformation and commitment to peace

Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, congratulated Rwanda on its independence anniversary, hailing the country’s remarkable socio-economic transformation and commitment to peace under President Paul Kagame’s leadership. The Nigerian government values the strong bilateral relations between the two countries and is committed to deepening cooperation in areas such as trade, technology, and sustainable development.
Nigeria and Rwanda have maintained warm and cordial relations since Rwanda’s independence on July 1st, 1962, cooperating in multilateral forums like the United Nations, African Union, and Commonwealth of Nations.
Nigerian businesses, including Access Bank and Guaranty Trust Bank, have a significant presence in Rwanda, while Rwanda’s RwandAir operates multiple flights to Abuja and Lagos.
Rwanda and Nigeria have implemented a Military and Police Training Agreement, with many senior Rwandan military officers receiving training at the Nigerian Defence Academy.
Both countries are committed to advancing peace, sustainable development, and pan-African unity, with Nigeria reaffirming its solidarity with Rwanda on its independence anniversary.
