Niger Delta Ministry new Permanent Secretary pledges Efficient, Productive, Incorruptible Ministry

The new Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs in Nigeria, Mrs. Didi Walson- Jack,mni, has pledged to develop and intitutionalise an Efficient, Productive, Incorruptible and citizen-centred (EPIC) culture in the Ministry as well as design an Entrepreneurial Culture and Commercial Orientation, in line with the mandate of the Head of Civil Service.
She said this on Thursday in Abuja during her assumption of duty at the Ministry where she called for renewed excellent service delivery by staff as inefficiency, incompetence, infraction or dereliction of duty would no longer be tolerated as they impacted directly on the people of the Niger Delta region.
Walson-Jack, thereby, stressed on the need for all hands to be put on deck to reduce the suffering of the region as this would be one of the focal points of her administration.
She also expressed her readiness to work on achieving the aim of the Federal Government to develop the Niger Delta region through strategic partnership and collaboration.
The Permanent Secretary, who informed staff that she would adhere strictly by the civil service rule of zero tolerance for corruption and poor work ethics, promised to improve the welfare of staff.
Walson- Jack, while accepting the challenge of moving the Ministry and Niger Delta region to the desired level of development, disclosed that she would work in line with stipulations of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan of 2017-2020, as approved by the Federal Executive Council.
The Permanent Secretary said that her administration would aim at increasing the Ministry’s quality of service delivery as well as work for the attainment of the goals of the Head of Civil Service, stressing that transparency would be her watch word.
In her welcome address, Mrs. Lauren Braide, Director, Community Development and Education (CDE) and Director, Overseeing the office of the Permanent Secretary expressed hope that her takeover of the reins of authority would change the narrative of the Niger Delta region as well as that of the Ministry.
Braide urged staff to support the new Permanent Secretary in her quest to develop the Niger Delta region as well as improve the welfare of Staff, while expressing hope that the yearnings of the people of the Niger Delta region would be addressed.
