NIESV, Others should partner with EFCC to sponsor bill on Public Asset Declaration and Valuation

A renouned Estate Survey Valuer, ESV Effa Imoh Okim has advocated that NIESV, as an Institution, should partner with government and other relevant stakeholders, including the EFCC to sponsor a bill in the National Assembly that will ensure that all public servants and politicians, who have the statutory obligations to declare their Assets at approved intervals, should only do so, by affixing Valuation Reports by Professional Estate Surveyors and Valuers.

Effa stated this while giving his goodwill address on behalf of EFCC Acting Executive Chairman and Director SCUML yesterday during the Nigeria Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) 53rd Annual Conference in Illorin. He said ascertaining the real market value of their movable and immovable assets and not mere assumption of value as it is the case now will ensure accuracy, while same should apply to auctioneering, property Taxation, procurement among others.

He disclosed that it will also be a huge revenue generation source for government, expand the market for Valuers, ensure accurate Property values data base and a veritable tool to fight money laundering in the real estate sector.

EffA Imoh Okim is a duly registered Estate Surveyor and Valuer, a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Project Management Professional, amongst others and a Deputy Zonal Commander of the EFCC.
