NiDCOM to investigate alleged killing of a Nigeria student by Chinese in Philippines

Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has said it will investigate a viral social media news item on the death of a Nigerian student, identified as Ikem, who was allegedly murdered by a group of Chinese in the Republic of Philippines.

NiDCOM however said that though the matter had not been officially reported to the Nigerian embassy in the Phillipines, the Commission has asked the “ eyewitness “ who posted the gory incident on his social media handle to provide more details to the Commission’s e-mail —admin@nidcom.gov.ng.

According to the statement made available to News Dot Africa by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Head of Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit (NiDCOM), “The Commission will set the machinery in motion to investigate the matter and unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
