The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has expressed deep concern over the crash of a Nigeria Air Force aircraft at Igbokoda in Ondo State, with approximately 32 people reportedly on board.

The aircraft, identified as NGR931, was involved in the incident following a statement by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development.

In a statement, the Director-General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo, expressed the Authority’s sympathy to the personnel of the Nigeria Air Force, occupants of the aircraft, their families and others affected by the incident.

The NCAA noted that military aviation operations fall outside its regulatory oversight and operational mandate, but said it remained committed to supporting the national response to the incident.

According to the Authority, it is prepared to provide technical expertise and other assistance that may be required to support the ongoing search and rescue operations.
“The NCAA is closely monitoring developments and will continue to cooperate with the relevant authorities and agencies in accordance with established national emergency response protocols,” the statement said.

Najomo said the Authority remained hopeful for a positive outcome and prayed for the safety and successful rescue of all those involved.
“At this difficult time, the Authority stands in solidarity with the Nigeria Air Force and all those directly affected by this incident,” he added.
