Matawalle Felicitates Muslims on Eid-el-Adha, Reaffirms Commitment to National Security

The Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Muhammed Bello Matawalle, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful and all Nigerians on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Adha celebration, urging citizens to embrace peace, unity and tolerance for national progress.

In a goodwill message released to mark the celebration, the minister said Eid-el-Adha symbolises the virtues of sacrifice, patience, devotion and obedience to Almighty Allah, stressing that Nigerians must continue to uphold values that promote harmony and peaceful coexistence across the country.

Matawalle called on citizens to strengthen mutual understanding irrespective of ethnic, religious or political differences, noting that national unity remains critical to achieving sustainable development and stability.

The minister also reassured Nigerians of the Federal Government’s commitment to safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity, saying the Armed Forces and other security agencies remain resolute in tackling insecurity in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He commended members of the Armed Forces for their courage, patriotism and sacrifices in defence of the nation, describing their dedication as invaluable to maintaining peace and security across the country.

Matawalle prayed for continued peace, security and prosperity in Nigeria and wished Muslims a joyful Eid celebration.
“May Allah continue to bless Nigeria with peace, security and prosperity. Eid Mubarak,” the Minister stated.
