Investigate Issues To Prevent Further Attempt on My Life- Ichie Okafor Begs DSS

A Diaspora Nigerian living in (Germany),from Anambra State, Ichie Ikechukwu Okafor has raised an alarm on issues of national security perpetrated in his home town, Awkuzu,Oyi LGA of the state including a threat on his life

Ichie Okafor, in a press conference on Thursday in Abuja, said he had been wry over various accusations of crimes he knew nothing about and had to spend five months in detention at the DSS where he was later released haven not been found guilty

The Ichie however alleged that the source of his predicament is a syndicate in which the Nnamenyi III (King) of Awkuzu Kingdom Professor Sir Charles M. Anikweze is involved

In his words,
“because of my open suggestions and disagreement over societal injustice like land grabbing and nepotism, the Igwe though presently restrained by court order from acting as such without compliance, had been at the fore front of petitioning and leveling accusations against me because my talk didn’t go well with some of the people including the igwe”

He disclosed that after his release from DSS detention, several attempts had been made on his life,his family and property which he had reported to the relevant stakeholders though no necessary action has been taken yet.
“In May and December, 2021 gun men attacked my residence in Anambra and set my cars and house on fire, though no life was lost because my family had a day before flew back to Germany”

As a concerned citizen, he expressed fears that the ongoing plans to scrap the existing ward structures with the aim of bringing in new ones that will be loyal to them will feature a lot of mudslinging and character assassination and could result in provocation and degenerate to violence not only to the ward but the state at large.

“Anambra is state of rich history; great myths; giant strides; creative, hardworking and innovative people, as such urgent action must be taken to prevent issues which he described as a threat to national security from escalating

Ichie Okafor urged DSS to consider his reports and thoroughly investigate the issue at hand to prevent further attempts on his life,his family and property.
