INDONESIAN EMBASSY IN NIGERIA CELEBRATES SALAH, DISTRIBUTES GIFTS…

The Indonesian Embassy in Nigeria has joined the rest of the world to celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir that came up during the weekend.

The open day on Saturday brought together the Indonesian families and friends in Nigeria with diplomats from different countries in Abuja, the Ambassador of Indonesia to Nigeria, Dr. Usra Hendra Harahap said the occasion is usually celebrated with everyone irrespective of the religious background. He said the Indonesia has been regularly involved in improving infrastructure in communities and and schools within and outside Abuja. 

His Excellency, Dr Harahap who commended Nigerians for being hospitable urged citizens to embrace peace, as that would enable fast development. “I have so many friends here from low to high level. We came together here to enjoy Indonesian food with different people from different countries also and we are happy being here”, he said with excitement.

Addressing the media, H. E. Harahap who is a retired general, disclosed that both countries have agreed on putting necessary ingredients and documents together that will midwife more robust engagements towards actualising a strengthened bilateral Defence Cooperation. “We need to share our experience on how to solve the problems of terrorism because it is in every part of the world”, he stated.

He said it will involve procurement, training, intelligence and information sharing among others.

Speaking also the South Korean Ambassador, Kim Yong Cha said though he is not a Moslem but he has reasonable knowledge of the Islamic obligations. “I have served in several Islam countries like Libya and Indonesia, but I know they have several obligations to perform like fasting and Hajj etc.. He urged NIgerians to leave in peace and harmony with each other

Highlights of the event during week include, sharing of cow, lamb and other gift items to different communities in Abuja.

Along with charity from Indonesia Embassy women association giving out Hijab, Carpet, Rice, Indomie, Snacks and others

Last year we distribute 7cows and Ram were donated to many communities in Nigeria.
