HATMAN President advocates for Tourism-friendly policy, environment

The newly elected President of Hospitality and Tourism Management Association of Nigeria (HATMAN), Samson Aturu has called on the government to come up with a clear cut policy, and also create a friendly environment that can help investment  in Tourism sector.
The Edo state born Hospitality & Tourism Manager in a chat with News Dot Africa said the Tourism sector is going through lot of challenges and the government is not really doing well in providing good environment for investors to explore.
Aturu who has spent his life in the hospitality business is the Chief Executive of Compass Hotel and Suites Limited. He started Royal Concept Nigeria Limited in 1994, as a human capital developer; organising training and demonstration  courses for operators in the industry of hotel management.
He said ” I started human capital development by training and retraining of manpower and the first  major job I got then was the training of NANET hotel staff which lasted for two years,  Lagos Airport hotel staff. I was then recommended to train the staff of premier hotel Ibadan when they were to host the FIFA 1995 at Lafia hotel Ibadan   and I must say it was a very wonderful experience”.
“The first hotel that we managed in Kaduna was palace motel, we also set up and managed Gombe Jewel hotel which hosted Argentina football team during FIFA  1999,   I also had a stint with NICON hotels limited   from 2003 to 2005”.
