Governor Abdullahi Sule to Bag National Peace Award at 2025 Unity Summit

His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, will be honoured with the prestigious Peace Governor of the Year Award 2025 at the upcoming National Peace and Unity Summit hosted by the Global Alliance for Peace and Unity (GAPU).
The summit, which is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, July 10, 2025, at the Royal Choice Inn Hotel, Abuja, is themed “Peace and Unity as a Panacea for Democratic and Economic Development.” It is expected to draw over 1,000 stakeholders from government, civil society, security agencies, and the private sector.
Chairman of the Summit Publicity Committee, Maryam Aminu, confirmed that Governor Sule’s selection for the award followed a rigorous review of his administration’s achievements in promoting peace, community inclusion, and economic growth within Nasarawa State and beyond.
“Governor Abdullahi Sule has continued to demonstrate exemplary leadership in ensuring harmony among diverse communities, fostering sustainable development, and promoting peaceful governance,” she said.
The event will also honour several distinguished Nigerians for their outstanding contributions to peacebuilding, national development, youth empowerment, and public service excellence.

Senator representing Delta South, Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas Ewomazino as Icon of Peace and Grassroots Development in Nigeria
Hajia Munirat Abdullahi, Nasarawa Commissioner for Finance as Amazon of Peace and Best Female Commissioner of Finance in Nigeria

The summit aims to spark meaningful dialogue on peaceful coexistence and democratic progress while recognizing and encouraging leaders who are making a positive difference in governance and society.
