Portuguese manager Jose Peseiro didn’t have the start he would have wanted as the coach of the Nigeria National Team as they lost a friendly match against the Mexican National Team at the AT & T Stadium, Dallas, USA, in the early hours of Sunday.

Goals from Santiago Gimenez, an own goal by Super Eagles defender Troost-Ekong and a goal from Cyriel Dessers who opened his account for the Eagles after drawing them level with a powerful header saw the game end in a 2-1 win over El Tri.

The Super Eagles are now winless against Mexico in six meetings, losing three and drawing three.

Up next for Peseiro’s side is another friendly against Ecuador on June 2.
