FOOTBALL: Nigerian contingents crash out of CAF Champions League

Nigerian representatives Enyimba FC and Remo Stars have both have crashed out of the 2023-24 CAF Champions League.
Enyimba, who needed only a line goal to see out Ahly Benghazi of Libya ended up playing a stalemate in Aba yesterday.
The People’s Elephants lost the first leg 4-3 and dominated the game but the Libyans were sturdy in their defending to frustrate the NPFL champions.
It is a huge disappointment for 2003-2004 champions who appointed Super Eagles legend, Nwankwo Kanu as Chairman of the club few weeks ago.
Elsewhere, Remo Stars exited the prestigious competition after losing to Ghanaian side, FC Medeama at the Ikenne Stadium, Ogun State.
The home side got a victory in the game to restore the aggregate to 1-1 but eventually lost 3-2 on a nerve-racking penalty shootouts.
