Federal Govt promises to Put More Infrastructure in North East
The Federal Government of Nigeria has said more infrastructural development will be located in the North Eastern Nigeria.
The Minister of State for Works and Housing, Abubakar D. Aliyu said this in Damaturu, Yobe state at a grand reception organised by the Yobe State government in his honour, alongside the Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawan, Saturday, December 28, 2019.
Engr Abubakar assured Yobe state and indeed the north eastern states of Nigeria to expect more infrastructural development from the present government of President Muhamnadu Buhari
He noted that the administration of President Buhari has achieved a lot in terms of providing infrastructural development such as roads in various parts of the country, pointing out that Yobe state and the north east in particular has tremendously benefited from many of such road projects.
According to the Minister, some of the ongoing and completed projects in Yobe state and the north east include Azare- Damburu road and Nguru-Gashua-Maimari road.
He also listed the establishment of the North East Development Commission as a great stride by the Buhari administration to take care of the reconstruction, rehabilitation and rebuilding of the entire devastated north east region.
He therefore assured the people of Yobe state and indeed the North Eastern states to continue to give support to the government of President Muhammadu Buhari even as he said, more developmental projects are still coming to the zone.
Earlier in his remarks at the reception, the Yobe state Governor, Mai Malah Buni sated that the government and people of Yobe state decided to honour their illustrious sons because of their various achievements for the state as well as at the national level. The governor described them as worthy ambassadors of the state.
The Governor particularly described Engr Abubakar Aliyu, the Minister of state for Works and Housing, as a core loyal public servant who contributed to the development of Yobe state.
He stated that Engr Aliyu had demonstrated an exemplary leadership quality and inspired young people during the over 10 years he served as deputy governor of Yobe State.
