Curiosity inspired me to author “The Number One Mission”- Yemi Edun

The MD/ CEO of Daniel Ford  International, a Nigerian Diaspora and property magnet based in the United Kingdom (UK), Mr Yemi Edun has said that curiosity led him to write The Number One Mission. He explained that in the course of his research he noticed many untold stories that should celebrate Nigeria. He urged that more of such histories should be published to applaud the country.

He said the proceeds from the book would be channelled towards the empowerment of the indigent, as a way of giving back to society.

The book provides a fresh perspective on the Nigerian High Commission in London, going beyond its role in offering consular services. It sheds light on diplomacy, culture, and identity, connecting Nigerians in the UK with their homeland.

Edun has leaved in UK for over 30 years and since the early 2000s, Daniel Ford has been involved in property deals worth over £650 million. Notable transactions include selling remarkable properties such as the home where Mozart composed his first symphony, the famous Lipton tea estate, and the house owned by Sir Robert Walpole, Britain’s first Prime Minister. Aside real estate, he is into finance, philanthropy and social impact engagement.

He was listed in the 2021 100 Most Influential Black People in the UK.

On the tennis tournament he sponsored in told journalists that, “Our objective is to elevate table tennis’s place in Nigeria’s sporting hierarchy and, ideally, bring it back to the times when it was frequently featured in the media. A Nigerian is currently ranked among the top 20 in the world, and I think we can do much better if we show more support for the game.”

Dignitaries at the Book launch include: the Labour Party Vice Presidential candidate, Senator Yusuf Baba Datti Ahmed, Senator Henri Dickson, Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora (NiDCOM), Dr Abike Dabiri-Erewa, two Former Ambassadors of the UK High Commission, Ambassadors Christopher Kolade and Major General Haldu Hananiya (Rtd), and a host of orders.
