CRS First Lady Reststes Commitment To Providing Quality Health Care

The Wife of the Cross River State Governor, Rev. Eyoanwan Bassey Otu has reiterated her commitment to bringing quality and affordable health care delivery and succour to the vulnerable and the entire people of the State.

She said this at the flag off of the State wide free medical outreach organized by the Office of the Wife of the Governor, adding that it is aimed at bringing good health to the people in tandem with the ‘People First’ agenda of the State Governor, His Excellency, Sen Bassey Otu.

She said: “it has always been my desire to be part of any philanthropic duty and in this case, providing free medical services to the good people of our dear State irrespective of religion, ethnic or tribal difference.” She then urged every Cross Riverian to take advantage of this opportunity to access quality health care.

Pledging her support to the State Government in attaining the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3) on Universal Coverage by 2030, she noted that there is need for drastic health advocacy, awareness and outreaches.

Rev. Eyoanwan explained that the outreach targets to: “Provide free medical screening, treatment, healthcare, consultation services, vaccination, eye and dental care services, free drugs, health education, among others.

Earlier, the Special Adviser, Programme, Project and Event, Dr. Inyang Asibong noted that one of the mandate of Her Excellency is to “take out 40% of people in Cross River State who are vulnerable and living in poverty through Health, Education, Agriculture, Environment and Social Welfare,’ adding that the office will work with woman, elderly, children and those living with disability to achieve this.

It is worthy of note that the Free Medical Outreach will run from Monday, September 4 to September 9, 2023 concurrently across the 18 Local Government Area.
